Insurance is more likely if you:
Have moderate or severe hail or wind damage.
Your damage is recent (within 1-2 years old).
Your hail or wind damage is widespread, and not marginal.
Manufacturer defect is more likely if you:
Registered your roof with the manufacturer post-installation and can provide proof of purchase, such as an invoice or receipt.
Have moderate or severe granule loss, blistering, cracking, or pitting.
You are within your rights as a client to file a claim regardless, but please do not file multiple claims without receiving additional damage as you may be penalized.

Insurance: If your insurance covers your roof replacement or repairs, we will need a copy of their estimate to match their numbers, ensuring you receive the full funds owed. If we provide an out-of-pocket estimate that is less than your insurance estimate, your insurance will adjust their estimate to reflect the difference. Therefore, contracting directly from your insurance estimate is easiest and necessary, as you cannot retain any funds by contracting for less.
Under Colorado Revised Statute § 6-22, the homeowner is responsible for paying their entire deductible.
Out-Of-Pocket: If your work falls outside insurance/manufacturer coverage, your claim has been denied, or you do not intend to involve insurance, we will provide a fair-market estimate valid for 30 days.
-
The decisions whether to file a claim or not is solely the policyholder’s decision. Insurance ultimately reserves full authority over their coverage decision, regardless of our findings.
Claim: If you decide to involve insurance, you will contact them to file a claim, indicating that a roofing contractor inspected your roof and found warrantable damage.
Adjuster Inspection: An adjuster will be assigned to perform an independent inspection. It is not necessary for us to be present for this inspection, although we can be if requested.
Coverage Decision: The insurance company will decide on coverage. If approved, they will send you an estimate, which we will contract directly from (see the ‘Insurance vs Out-Of-Pocket Estimates’ section for more information). If denied, you may appeal their decision, but first research any potential penalties your provider might impose.
Funding: Depending on your provider’s terms, they will provide all or a portion of the funds to cover our deposit. Once we’ve completed the work, you will send our final invoice to your provider to collect any remaining funds and close the claim.
